Pediatric residency is a specialized medical training program that focuses on the care and treatment of infants, children, and adolescents. Pediatric residents typically spend three to four years in a combination of clinical rotations, didactic education, and research. During their training, residents learn how to diagnose and manage a wide range of pediatric conditions, from common illnesses to complex diseases. They also gain experience in providing preventive care, counseling families, and working as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Upon completing their residency, pediatricians may choose to pursue further subspecialty training or enter into general pediatric practice.
